Case Study

Intermountain Health

“ResolutionMD is the chosen Enterprise Viewer at Intermountain Healthcare. The viewer is used daily by our thousands of clinicians for review of imaging studies. Our referring physicians review radiology reports in our enterprise EHR and are able to launch the images in context directly from the report screen. This is beneficial in that the correct images for the correct patient are launched automatically, creating a streamlined process for the end users. ResolutionMD provides our clinicians secure, HIPAA compliant image access by constraining access only to the relevant information of the patient they are caring for."

THE SITUATION

Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) has 10,000 practitioners, referring physicians and other occasional users that need daily access to the millions imaging studies generated annually by its radiology and cardiology departments. To provide simple, fast access to these studies without overburdening and impacting the performance of its PACS, IHC implemented vendor neutral archives for imaging data and integrated ResolutionMD enterprise image viewer into its electronic health record (EHR). With this integration, IHC’s providers gain streamlined access to patient images located on data archives simply by clicking on a link from within their EHR.
