DevOps Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

The DevOps Analyst will be part of a versatile team that creates cutting edge web, mobile, cloud and collaboration solutions for data and graphics intensive applications. The primary responsibility of this role will be to help develop and manage the PureWeb® platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering as well as Software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions built on top of this platform.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, displaying leadership qualities, as well as being an enthusiastic advocate for work and processes that allow the development team to release as quickly and reliably as possible. We are looking for critical thinkers who are self motivated and have a flair for finding creative ways of solving hard problems.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Director of R&D for PureWeb Labs, the DevOps Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Management of production, staging, testing and development environments on AWS
  • Aid in the development and deployment of services that are part of our PaaS and SaaS offerings
  • Improving deployment, efficiency, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of these services
  • Maintaining an awareness of the latest industry developments and best practices in cloud computing
  • Interacting with partners to evaluate and assess different cloud tools and services

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in related fields
  • An effective team player with strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to learn new technologies
  • Strong development skills - experience with languages and tools such as Go, Python, Bash, Git, Rake, Bamboo
  • Systems administration experience on Windows and Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting technologies such as Logstash, Datadog, Loggly
  • Depth of practical experience with cloud computing technologies, such as AWS
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery practices
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, including Scrum Programming preferred
