3DR® Laboratories, LLC To Use ResolutionMD™ Clinical Applications To Support Expanded Cloud/S-a-a-S Strategy

Calgary, AB - September 19, 2011 - Calgary Scientific Inc., a leading innovator in advanced visualization solutions and web, mobile and collaboration-enabling platforms, has formalized a contractual relationship with 3DR® Laboratories, LLC, a major U.S.-based provider of Advanced Visualization (AV) and diagnostic imaging services, to incorporate Calgary Scientific’s ResolutionMD™ family of advanced medical diagnostic imaging software into its technology platform. 3DR plans to integrate ResolutionMD Web into its Medical Imaging Workflow platform, and offer it through a secure, Internet-based Software-as-a-Service (S-a-a-S) solution.
ResolutionMD clinical applications are designed around specific clinical workflows, enabling advanced processing and visualization capabilities, to enable accurate and efficient assessment of images, including full 3D imaging rendering and assessment. ResolutionMD™ Web provides a secure, centrally-managed solution that easily integrates into any existing PACS, RIS or EMR infrastructure. The ability to fully and rapidly integrate into existing systems eliminates migration costs commonly associated with moving to a new distribution system and is one of the primary reasons 3DR has selected the technology.
The partnership is an aspect of 3DR’s strategy to provide a multi-vendor, software platform to its clients. Using specially trained technologists, 3DR provides low-cost, high-quality, AV image processing services to a large customer base including hospitals, imaging centers, radiologists, and referring physicians. Subscribers to the service will have access to the ResolutionMD software to process their own cases, or to perform additional work for cases previously prepared by 3DR’s technologists. 3DR’s services allow its customers to supplement in-house laboratory staff, or to post-process specialty cases requiring AV software not available within their own PACS or network.

3DR plans to begin integration testing and initial deployment of the ResolutionMD software during the fourth quarter of this year to selected clients. A full rollout of ResolutionMD to its clients and expanded use within 3DR’s centralized laboratory is planned for, early 2012.
